D FROM D EDITION
SCULPTURE
This limited edition of 34 elegant sculptures, measuring approximately 8½” in length, are cast in aluminium using various original circa 1955 ex-D-type components as 'donor' metal. The sculptures are mounted upon an original D-type engine con-rod permitting it to be rotated through 360 degrees upon the plinth. The plinths, which are of solid macassar ebony, are lozenge shaped to mimic the old racing Jaguar badge and have a burr walnut inner lozenge plus Jaguar plate inlaid into the front, the latter taking the form of silver lettering on a red enamel background.
Each piece is stamped with its limited edition number and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed both by Christopher Bennett of TMB Art Metal and, more significantly, Norman Dewis, the renowned test driver who was so instrumental in the D-type's development.
